New spam protection

Spamming got a little out of hand, about 650 day, besides that some got through akismet. So some extra things where added, you have to solve a small math problem and trackback are being checked if there is really a link. Hope this will keep those spam messages from showing up.
Sorry for the extra checks but it’s not my fault.

It’s also a barrier then for stupid people , so comments on my blog will be having a higher standard.
Then again you give more hints on solving the difficult math problem on your blog, so be carefull with your comment level

hehehe! Well, that won’t happen very often!
BTW - Have you tried Bad Behavior plus Akismet? My blog site was getting hammered with spam. Adding Bad Behavior stopped 99% of the crap coming in - then Akismet took care of the little bit that got through.
He really *hates* Joomla! - for some reason! He said so on my blog, too. Funny!

Hi Amy,
I’m was already running Bad Behaviour, but made a small adjustment and added spam blockers I wrote myself to the list. I capture 100% and akismet isn’t being used anymore.
This plugin combining best from BB, only few test do 98% of the blocking, with math check for normal spam and trackback checker for trackbacks and pingbacks, will be released with a project I’m working on at the university giving you the ability to share offending data from several levels, for example wordpress spam and bruteforce on sshd and correlating attacks over different sites, if you have 2 blogs you see the same ips showing up same hour/day, trying to spam.
